To streamline how we certify projects, two chain-of-custody standards are open for consultation.

FSC-STD-40-006 Chain of Custody Standard for Project Certification

This standard specifies the requirements for project certification; defined as objects or buildings and construction projects that use FSC-certified or reclaimed forest-based materials.

The main changes to this standard are:

·         A single certificate can include into its scope multiple entities and multiple projects.

·         Groups and multi-site organizations can apply for project certification.

·         New claims can be made about a project and specific components of a project.

FSC-STD-20-011 Chain of Custody Evaluations This standard specifies the requirements for FSC-accredited certification bodies to evaluate FSC-certified projects.

The main changes to this standard are:

·         Additions and changes to auditing requirements.
